GRID is a live and developing exhibition that entails the creation of 100 mini paintings throughout a 10-month timeline (June 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024). Both on this page and in the physical exhibition space, GRID is presented in a grid format evoking the interface of a social media grid and other grid format albums with chronological hierarchy such as Google and Apple photos. The project explores technical questions for the artist such as exploration of composition (small format paintings in high multiples provide an opportunity for intensive study and experimentation) and her personal biographical experience. Insight into the project and its process will be displayed virtually via Instagram and on this page. For the duration of the project timeline, this page will be updated with studies, works in progress, writing on the piece and, ultimately, the finished painting. I invite you to follow along below as the project develops. At the end of the project timeline, this page will serve as an archive of the project. Early studies created as part of the project proposal are included in the grid below and marked accordingly.
