Andonia Giannakouros is a figurative painter using oil and wax on panel. Born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa, Andonia attended Clarke University, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Painting and a minor in Graphic Design. She moved to Memphis, Tennessee in her early 20s where she lived, worked and painted before returning to Dubuque in late 2012. She has been exhibiting her work in Iowa and Tennessee in both group and solo shows since 2003. A member of the Scenic Art Loop, Andonia has an open studio at 219 W. 9th Street in historic downtown Dubuque open Wednesday-Saturday 9am-5pm and on First Fridays 5pm-8pm.
