I had recently read a statistic that claimed the average young woman spends five hours a week taking photographs of herself. This work was created from life in one long sitting and then perfected and adjusted over the course of one week for a total creation time of five hours.

Read MoreMy current body of work began as an exploration of the effects of the internet's acceleration of generational divide and isolation. Bridal Shower is a depiction of that isolation; the chasm of socialization styles and significant life milestones. The subject of the painting sits next to a window separated from the other guests visually by structural support beams. She is closed off from the outside where a sunny day is in progress and also separate from the other guests at the shower, who are turned away in conversation.
